Green Economy: New Opportunities in the Labor Market?

This publication is part of a multi-year project of the Macro Center for Political Economy and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation which began in 2009 and focuses on green employment.

It is our understanding that the term "green economy" reflects the concept that environmental policy does not hinder economic activity but rather can encourage growth.

The booklet combines three chapters that discuss the transition to the green economy from a multitude of angles – both in terms of a just transition from the point of view of employees and employers, in terms of required policy and its measurement, and in terms of promoting green employment by creating a national database.
