Israeli–German / European Relations

For more than 50 years, FES Israel has played an essential role in promoting dialogue between Israel and Germany. The two countries share a special relationship, which is particularly shaped by the legacy of the Holocaust. However, contemporary and future issues are also an important dimension. Against this background, FES Israel encourages and strengthens cooperation between the two countries in order to safeguard the special partnership and mutual understanding also for future generations. Regular dialogue programs strengthen mutual understanding and offer exchanges for policies on common challenges. The meetings are attended by experts, academics, young activists, trade union representatives and high-ranking politicians.

As an integral part of the European Union, Germany is always in close coordination with its European partners. Therefore, FES Israel is also committed to strengthening Israeli-European relations. We support the exchange between decision makers and experts. Within the framework of the various programs, current social, economic and security aspects are discussed and policy recommendations are prepared in order to strengthen cooperation and the Israeli-European dialogue.
