Great Pride: Films Developed in the WomanFilms Documentary Lab for Women Filmmakers in Israel of the New Fund for Cinema and Television Won Awards at the 2026 Docaviv Festival

We are excited and proud to announce the extraordinary success of several filmmakers whose documentary projects began within the framework of the WomenFilms Documentary Lab for Women Filmmakers of the New Fund for Cinema and TV - a unique program with which we have been partners since its inception.

This year, five (!!!) films developed in the Lab participated in the Docaviv Festival. The mere presence of five films from the Lab in what is one of the most important documentary film events in Israel is a joyful and exciting record, and a testament to the creative and in-depth work done within the framework of the program.

Two of the films came home with awards:

1. The film "The Woman in White" directed by Emmanuelle Mayer won the Best Israeli Film Award and the Nili Tal Best Research Award. The film follows the character of Tamar Golan, the woman who dressed in white and pulled the strings behind the scenes of Israel’s foreign policy. She invented a different kind of diplomacy—one rooted in personal relationships, eye contact, and the hosting of a political-cultural salon in Paris. She succeeded where official channels failed. And yet, her name never entered official records.

2. The film "Hostel Jabotinsky" directed by Adi Yaffe Cohen won a commendation in the "Beyond the Screen" competition. The film opens a window into the lives of twenty-three adults on the autistic spectrum, through the perspective of the filmmaker who serves as a mentor on site.

Warm congratulations to the winners, and all the best to all the filmmakers whose films were included in the festival program.

There is nothing more exciting than being partners in an original, relevant and impactful cinematic creation that brings the perspective of women.

Great thanks and appreciation to the New Fund for Cinema and Television for its professional, consistent and sensitive work, and for a wonderful partnership that bears fruit year after year.
