The Eighth Cohort of the “Local Voice” Program Successfully Completed

On April 16, the eighth cohort of the “Local Voice” program, one of the flagship initiatives of the Social Justice Centers in cooperation with the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, was successfully completed.

Twenty newly elected local council members from across Israel, all in their first term, graduated from the comprehensive training program. Over the past six months, participants took part in six full-day sessions and a multi-day seminar.

The program offered an in-depth exploration of key areas of municipal governance through the lens of equality, social justice, and democracy. Topics included urban planning and housing, budgeting, education, religion and state at the municipal level, relations with national government, environmental policy, youth engagement, accessibility, and LGBTQ+ inclusion, among others.

A committed and engaged group has formed through this process, and the graduates now officially join the Local Voice alumni network, where further activities and collaborations are planned.
