Presentation of the Internship Projects of the 11th Course of the Program for Economy, Society and Environment

On Friday, March 28, about 40 students from three universities (Hebrew University Jerusalem, Tel Aviv University, and Ben Gurion University Be’er Sheva) gathered in Tel Aviv to present their internship projects to their fellow students in the presence of staff members from the respective universities, as well as external experts.

The aim of the program is to train economically and socially critical civil servants for the public sector, in addition to the regular lectures, workshops and seminars, the internships in the various ministries serve this purpose.

This year, we were able to gain the following ministries as partners: The Ministry of Welfare and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Construction and Housing, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Interior.

Selected examples of topics that are dealt with in the current internships: Advantages of central allocation of medical residency, the costs of the use of pesticides in Israel, state subsidies for the purchase of one’s first apartment.

The students will be accompanied in their project work by first-class mentors, advisors, experienced economists, and current and former high-ranking civil servants.
