Where Am I? Gender Perspectives on Public Space

The collection of articles in this publication is the product of a joint project of the Beit Berl College and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation which began with a conference on gender perspectives on space in 2012, continued with a fruitful discussion on relevant issues and voices, and eventually gave rise to a diverse group of articles dealing with the position and function of women in the public space.

We hope that the very discussion of these issues and the dialogue that took place and continues between women from all parts of Israeli society, and between women and men, create a basis for turning the public space into a natural and comfortable place for women in Israel.
