Emda - Evaluation and Planning Meeting for Leaders of Pre-military Academies

Not all Israelis join the military immediately after school. In so-called “premilitary programs,” some young school graduates complete a voluntary year after high school before being drafted into the army.

In cooperation with the Yigal Alon Center, the World Zionist Organization and the Joint Council of Pre-Military Academies, the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung supports a program dedicated to the leaders of these academies.

Despite the ongoing war, the program went ahead almost as planned, although some of the monthly meetings had to take place via Zoom. This was due to the fact that almost all participants had been drafted into the IDF reserve, at least sporadically.

It is all more remarkable that 12 graduates of the Emda program met on June 5 at the Yigal Alon Center in Kibbutz Ginossar to evaluate the 8th course and plan for future activities.

Representatives of the partner organizations were present at the evaluation meeting. The FES was represented by project manager Micky Drill, who once again emphasized the significance of social democratic values in the Emda program.
